Appendix to Villa Maria House Rules during the Covid-19 Pandemic (Level 1)

We are committed to providing and maintaining a safe environment for all Students and Staff.

It is important that we all adhere to COVID-19 safety precautionary measures in order to manage the spread of the coronavirus.

Students are required to follow ALL safety protocols.

General Principles
1. Wash hands regularly, 40 seconds as recommended by the WHO, NDH, and other health institutions using soap and water especially after coughing or sneezing
2. Avoid touching the nose, eyes, or mouth after washing hands to prevent COVID-19 exposure
3. Consistently wash/sanitise hands before and after touching objects. Hand sanitizers are located at the entrances and on each floor.
4. Sanitize your Smartphone, computer screens and keyboards regularly, at a bare minimum of twice weekly
5. You must wear your mask at all times while you are in any public area of the building. (except while SEATED in the dining room)
6. Physical distancing: Students are to avoid close contact with other people and should maintain a distance of at least one and a half metres from each other. (1.5 metres according to South Africa level 1 restrictions)
7. No more than three students are allowed in the shower areas at the same time as per signage.
8. No more than two students are allowed in the laundry area downstairs at any given time or 4 in the upstairs laundry area on the first floor at any given time.
9. Students temperatures are recorded daily and a weekly health questionnaire must be completed.
10. During the Covid-19 Pandemic visitors are not permitted in to the Residence. (Can meet outside at a safe distance)
11. Curfew in accordance with Covid-19 Level one curfew regulations unless you have a permit to travel to perform a service. 00:00 – 04:00
12. Villa Maria Management must be informed immediately if you are feeling unwell
13. If you have been asked to self-quarantine you must inform Villa Maria Management without delay.

Breaking of Villa Maria student safety protocols and House Rules will be penalised as follows:
1st offence – Written warning
2nd offence – Final written warning
3rd offence – Lease termination
Damage of signage and safety equipment – Penalty of R350
