COVID PROTOCOL
YOUR SAFETY IS IMPORTANT
We are committed to providing and maintaining a safe environment for all residents and staff.
It is important that we all adhere to COVID-19 safety precautionary measures in order to manage the spread of the coronavirus.
Appendix to Villa Maria House Rules during the Covid-19 Pandemic (Level 1)
Residents are required to follow ALL safety protocols.
- Wash hands regularly, 40 seconds as recommended by the WHO, NDH, and other health institutions using soap and water especially after coughing or sneezing.
- Avoid touching the nose, eyes, or mouth after washing hands to prevent COVID-19 exposure.
- Consistently wash/sanitise hands before and after touching objects. Hand sanitizers are located at the entrances and on each floor.
- Sanitize your Smartphone, computer screens and keyboards regularly, at a bare minimum of twice weekly.
- You must wear your mask at all times while you are in any public area of the building (except while SEATED in the dining room).
- Physical distancing: Avoid close contact with other people and maintain a distance of at least one and a half metres from each other. (1.5 metres according to South Africa level 1 restrictions).
- No more than three residents are allowed in the shower areas at the same time as per signage.
- No more than two residents are allowed in the laundry area downstairs at any given time, or 4 in the upstairs laundry area on the first floor at any given time.
- Residents’ temperatures are recorded daily and a weekly health questionnaire must be completed.
- During the Covid-19 Pandemic visitors are not permitted in to the Residence. (Can meet outside at a safe distance).
- Curfew in accordance with Covid-19 Level one curfew regulations unless you have a permit to travel to perform a service. 00:00 – 04:00.
- Villa Maria Management must be informed immediately if you are feeling unwell.
- If you have been asked to self-quarantine you must inform Villa Maria Management without delay.
Breaking of Villa Maria safety protocols and House Rules will be penalised as follows:
1st offence – Written warning
2nd offence – Final written warning
3rd offence – Lease termination
Damage of signage and safety equipment – Penalty of R350
